Whisper welcomes Maarten Botterman

Some moments feel like a genuine step change. This is one of them.
We’re proud to officially welcome Maarten Botterman to the Whisper Advisory Board.
For anyone familiar with the world of internet governance, Maarten needs little introduction. Over the past decades, he has played a significant role in shaping the secure, stable, and globally coordinated internet we all rely on today, including nine years on the ICANN Board, three of them as Chairman.
As Whisper builds the infrastructure intelligence layer for predictive cybersecurity, having someone of Maarten’s calibre join our mission is both deeply meaningful and strategically important.
His experience across internet governance, digital trust, policy, and ethics comes at a time when understanding the internet’s underlying structure has never mattered more.
At Whisper, we believe the future of cybersecurity moves beyond reactive detection toward contextual and predictive understanding of infrastructure itself. Security teams and AI agents alike need more than isolated indicators, they need the ability to reason over the internet as an interconnected system.
That is the problem Whisper is solving.
By connecting domains, IPs, ASNs, routing, DNS, certificates, and ownership into a single queryable graph, Whisper enables defenders to see relationships, dependencies, and infrastructure patterns that traditional security tooling often misses.
Maarten’s perspective will help guide us as we continue building technology designed to give defenders, analysts, and AI systems a clearer understanding of how the internet is actually wired together.
This is more than an endorsement of what we’re building.
It’s a strong signal that the next generation of cybersecurity will be driven by infrastructure visibility, graph intelligence, and better context.
Welcome to the team, Maarten.
Let’s get to work.
